On Wednesday, October 21, NSCHC Development Director Bob McGrogan joined Discover Deutschtown volunteers for a neighborhood cleanup along the Exit 2B ramp connecting I-279 to East Street.
Discover Deutschtown equips volunteers for these monthly efforts with safety vests, gloves, traffic cones, and trash bags. Complementing this hands-on work, East Allegheny Community Council Board President Sarah Baker recently reached out to state representatives to advocate for long-term solutions. Thanks to these advocacy efforts, new trash barrels, warning signs, and improved contractor litter-management practices are coming soon.
Highway ramps offer visitors their first impression of our community, and keeping them clean requires a team effort. NSCHC is proud to partner with Discover Deutschtown and the East Allegheny Community Council to make a lasting, positive impact on our neighborhood and city.
