All Smiles in the Dental Department
The North Side Christian Health Center Dental Department resumed “operations as usual” in 2022 and completed roughly 20% more appointments than in 2021. Our Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner continued to team with pediatricians at the North View Heights location to offer safe, convenient dental care to some of our most vulnerable patients. As many dental offices in the region remained closed or with decreased capacity following the public health emergency, the NSCHC Dental Clinic became the “dental home” for many of Pittsburgh’s new refugee and immigrant residents. With the help of bilingual providers and on-staff translators, we provided care to many of these patients in their native languages. As the state of public health continues to improve, the Dental Department hopes to bring even more smiles to the North Side Community in 2023!
