food access program
healthy food
a critical part of whole-person care
We are dedicated to breaking down barriers to nutrition and empowering our patients to make healthier choices for their families. Through personalized nutritional education and counseling, we help patients manage chronic conditions to improve long-term health.
When a patient identifies as food insecure through our Social Determinants of Health Survey, our care team connects them directly to our Food Access Program, which includes:
Food Boxes
Shelf-stable groceries provided in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to support patients and families in need.
Food Bucks
Vouchers redeemable at Mayfly Market & Deli, a locally owned grocery store on Pittsburgh’s Northside. Food Bucks can be used to purchase a wide variety of nutritious staples—including fresh produce, milk, eggs, butter, chicken, bread, and orange juice.
