WALKING FOR A HEALTHIER NORTH SIDE

The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is more than a community event—it reflects a shared commitment to equity, dignity, and access to healthcare. North Side Christian Health Center is proud to participate once again, joining partners and neighbors in support of compassionate, whole-person care for our community.

Proceeds from the walk benefit NSCHC’s Uncompensated Care Fund, which helps ensure that individuals without insurance can receive the same high-quality, respectful care our patients have trusted for more than 30 years. Through our sliding fee scale, financial barriers are reduced so patients can seek care when they need it, not only when they can afford it.

Thanks to Highmark’s generous support in covering all event expenses, every contribution made through the walk directly supports patient care. This collective effort helps keep families healthy, children thriving, and communities strong.

By walking together, fundraising, or offering financial support, participants help advance access to care across Pittsburgh’s North Side. Together, we are building a healthier future—one step at a time.

Walk Day Schedule:

• 7:45 AM: Check in/registration opens

• 9:00 AM: 5K Walk begins

• 9:10 AM: 1 Mile Walk begins
