Message from the CEO

My start in health care was as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa 20 years ago working with a rural health care center. And since then, my professional journey has included municipal finance and over 10 years with large health care organizations. But like many, the pandemic forced me to reflect on my goals and my priorities both professional and personal. Thus, when offered the opportunity to join North Side Christian Health Center, and return to community-based health care, it was an enthusiastic “yes.”

Since joining North Side Christian Health Center in August 2021, I have been struck by the resilience of the staff during this unprecedented time in public health, and the perseverance of the clinical leadership to continue to deliver medical, dental and behavioral health to patients regardless of their insurance status and ability to pay. Like employment status and education, health status is a key driver of an individual’s ability to function at his/her full potential and should be available to all for the well-being of families and the community. Going into 2022 and beyond, North Side Christian Health Care’s goal will be to grow its partnerships -- with schools, businesses, churches and residents – to continue to carry out its mission of providing whole-person primary healthcare to underserved persons on the Northside and surrounding neighborhoods.
